The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) has informed Linn County Parks that the annual water level drawdown of Foster Reservoir will begin on September 21st. It is anticipated that the drawdown will take approximately two week to complete with the water level expected to hit the winter (low) pool elevation of 613 feet on October 5th.
Boater coming to Foster Reservoir should keep in mind that at some point during the two week draw down process the Gedney Creek and Calkins Park Boat Ramps will close due to low water and the only accessible boat ramp on Foster Reservoir will be at Sunnyside County Park. The Sunnyside Boat Ramp is open for use all year, although larger boats could have a difficult time launching at the winter pool level.
For more information contact Linn County Park at: (541)967-3917.
